Da Vinci Cabinetry Gives Back – Our Collaboration With GiGi’s Playhouse

Our team at Da Vinci Cabinetry believes it is very important for us to be able to give back to our community. GiGi’s Playhouse has a mission that is very dear to our hearts – to spread awareness of down syndrome and to change the way people perceive down syndrome. This is why, when we heard that there is a center opening in Fort Myers, we knew we wanted to help.

Knowing that creating kitchens is our strong suit, we inquired if they needed a new kitchen for their new space, and that’s how the partnership began. We were lucky enough to get a few very important sponsors on board as well, which includes Fabuwood cabinetry, Silestone countertops, Richelieu hardware, and our local tile dealer, American Tile.

The kitchen at GiGi’s Playhouse is a place for family networking and artistic activities. As we learned, artistic activities are a form of occupational therapy and self confidence building. Many of the programs that GiGi’s offers include offering food to teach and encourage proper food choices, mealtime routines, and age-appropriate use of utensils, napkins, and manners. Working in the kitchen gives guests that opportunity to learn independent skills to keep them healthy and safe.

We also got to spend some with with GiGi’s president, Samantha Nunez, and find out about all of the incredible things GiGi’s does for the down syndrome community.
